faSing

The elbow bump – used both for contact and to repel – became our greeting when we rarely met in person, off screen. Fear of contact outside the digital safety zone has not left us completely since. “faSing” depicts the unstable situation of a woman in the disembodied multiverse of the digital world, a person between imagined space and echo chamber, between self-discovery and loss of reality, opportunities and dangers.

Like other international artists who make Berlin the centre of their work, Katia Guedes belongs to the local independent music theatre scene. With the multimedia artist Lucas Bambozzi, who, like her, comes from São Paulo, Brazil, she returns to the physical world of theatre space after their previous film work, “pierSing”. As a collaborative project, “faSing” considers hearing and seeing to be equally intertwined. Visual and sonic composition flow seamlessly into one other, created simultaneously in mutual coordination.
