The Paranormal Φeer Group

Loss of Signal

A spaceship lost in space. Its interior is reasonably homely, but, well, a bit dusty – thrown together out of remnants from the 1970s and 1980s. On board, a computer with a need to talk and various strange defects. And over the years the engine room has developed a life of its own – it seems to only function according to musical rules. Performer and audience are co-astronauts on this journey into infinite space.

As “the paranormal Φeer group” Maria Huber, Jakob Boeckh, and Ole Hübner develop theatre works that move between new music theatre, participatory performance, and installation. Through their experiences in isolation during the lockdown and annoying technical problems during video conferences between Berlin, Hamburg, and Giessen, a joint project took an unplanned course transforming into LOSS OF SIGNAL.
