Welcome to BAM!, the festival of Berlin’s independent music theater scene!
With its packed program of more than 40 performances during five days, this third edition of the festival demonstrates the unbroken vitality of this scene in difficult times.

Alongside several installations, a diverse spectrum of filmic works from the period of theater shutdown complements this year’s performances – demonstrating the astonishing degree to which many performers professionalized themselves in this field during their enforced absence from the stage.

As in 2019, BAM!’s center is Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin-Mitte. Volksbühne as the main venue will be joined this year by the movie theater Babylon across the street. Acker Stadt Palast, St. Elisabeth and Ballhaus Ost again constitute further venues in the close vicinity.

For the second time now, BAM! is also venturing to establish a bridge to one other center of independent music theater. This year, the focus is on Switzerland.
