Berlin is indebted and music theatre is expensive. With DOLLS, Sirje Viise presents her vision of how music theatre could be produced in a cost-saving and profit-oriented way from now on. Twenty-three operas and even a ballet are being performed! The Prima donna is Barbie (arguably still the most important diva of our time). Since fees in the field of tenors are a particular burden to the operatic business, Barbie also helps out in male roles. The fourteen-hour performance is divided into two days. It uses a scale of 1:6 and contains everything the Gesamtkunstwerk needs today: classical and experimental singing, artificial blood and video projections, casting couch and group hypnosis, snacks and candlelight ceremonies. Also a real birth. And as star guest: GI Joe!
