Independent Music Theatre in Switzerland

With the title “Mapping Music Theatre”, BAM! seeks an exchange with another centre of independent music theatre in Europe in each edition – in 2022, this bridge-building leads to Switzerland. Due to Switzerland’s small-scale funding system and its decentralised cultural infrastructure, this scene is more diverse and thus more difficult to grasp than that of many other countries. Complementing the Swiss presentations, this panel seeks to provide a more detailed insight into the complex mix of the independent Swiss music theatre scene, its production conditions, artistic paths, and internal relationships.
